Souleymane Traore, Current Chairman of Guaranty Trust Bank in Cote d’Ivoire, is joining AfriMed Network Board as a Senior Advisor. Chairman Traore serves as President of Actions for Development Initiative, ADI, a nonprofit that is helping to improve the level of education for underprivileged children in Cote d’Ivoire. Chairman Traore is also a director of Banque Populaire (BPCI) representing the Prime Minister of Cote d’Ivoire on that Board.

Chairman Traore also served for nearly two decades at the International Finance Corporation, (IFC), the World Bank Group in Washington DC until 2012. Including his work with IFC and Citibank, Chairman Traore has worked over three decades in banking across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Pakistan and Afghanistan. His banking development work has left a positive mark on numerous countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Jordan, and Lebanon.
