The Honorable Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao, recently the Ambassador from the African Union to the United States, has joined AfriMed Network as a Senior Advisor. Dr. Quao brings to the Advisory Board years of experience in medicine while working in the United States and Africa.
Dr. Quao is the Founder and CEO of Bell Medical Centers in the United States and holds a bachelor’s degree in General Chemistry, a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, and a doctoral degree in Medicine. She states:
“The government of Cote d’Ivoire has made great strides toward the goal of improving health care across the West African nation. This effort by AfriMed Network will take basic medical care to a new level, reaching out to regions not currently served by organized medical care, especially those who have no ability to pay for basic medical care. What is most exciting is AfriMed’s business approach and timelines that will accelerate the delivery of care and the cooperative programs they will implement.”
Ambassador Quao began her life in Zimbabwe and then moved to the United States where she practiced medicine for 29 years in Tennessee. She has chaired the African Union Diaspora Health Initiative since 2012.
